The Athenaeum Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia is renowned for exhibiting visual art created by local artists who live or work in the region (DC, Maryland and Virginia). To promote participation in the Defense of the Arts Day celebrated in January at the State Legislative Assembly in Richmond, Virginia, the gallery collaborates with Virginians for the Arts.
